New-Year-2020-Wishes
_____
It is a long standing tradition to make New Year's resolutions. We
often come to this time of year looking forward and happy to leave the
past year behind.
If you are a high achiever you probably feel you didn't get much done
last year or at least not as much as you would have liked.
Before making your New Year's resolutions or setting goals for the year
ahead, consider taking a few minutes to recount the things you have
accomplished in 2019.
If you have kept a journal or jotted notes on a calendar, you will most
certainly be reminded of many things that have almost been forgotten.
Recounting the good things helps us say good-bye to last year and look
forward to what the upcoming year holds. It can also give us clarity on
where we would like to go from here.
Here is a short list to get you started:
Did you take a class and learn something new?
Did you encourage someone along the way?
Did you take time out for yourself?
Did you do something that required a lot of courage?
Did you take a trip for pleasure or inspiration?
What one thing did you do that makes you feel most proud?
Set a few goals. They don't have to be big ones. Make sure they are
practical and achievable. When you have achieved one, mark it off the
list and add another. Remember, it was the tortoise that won the race.
It doesn't matter how quickly you achieve your goal. What matters is
what you learn and the joy you feel as you work toward it.
I wish the upcoming year to be the happiest and most rewarding year of
your life thus far.
Happy New Year and remember,
the Best is Yet to Come!
